Fitness Week Review: 9/21 – 9/27

The Chicago Marathon is so close I can feel it. I am done with all of my lengthy long runs and it is all down hill from here as far as mileage is concerned. Overall this was a very active week for me personally that took my fitness across state lines. From Thursday to Sunday I was in Boston for vacation. As a result it did get in the way of my fitness activities but didn’t stop me completely.

My week….

Fitness Week Review: 9/8 – 9/13

This week was a bit of a short/ clustered week. Since the previous weekend was labor day, I technically started this week on Tuesday. (Having done my previous weeks long run on Monday). Along with this I took a work trip to Dallas, TX from Thursday to Saturday. So needless to say my running schedule was a little bit mixed up.

None the less I still got my activity in, just not as much as I would have liked. My week…..

Fitness Week Review: 8/24 – 8/30

Coming off of my best week of training yet I was hoping to roll that into another strong week. Unfortunately that did not happen. Socially this was a very busy week for me. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I had a happy hour scheduled for each day. I am an after work runner, so these happy hours all got in the way. I meant to run in the morning, however I have a hard time with that. So needless to say the first 3 days of the week were shot.

However, none the less, there was some excitement this week. On Saturday and Sunday I had two organized runs. Both absolutely amazing and made for such a fun weekend. So while the week wasn’t as productive as I would have liked, I still had a very active running weekend.

Fitness Week in Review: 8/10 – 8/16

A few weeks ago I was writing about how I needed to ramp up training for Chicago Marathon. Last week, outside of a missed long run, I felt pretty good about my training week. This week I can really say everything went as planned. I swapped a few days of rest and activity, but at the end of the week I had 5 out of 7 days worth of activity and a completed long run. And at the same time I technically got 2 long runs in for the week to make up for my missed one last week. I am starting to come into the swing of things.

My activity for the week:

Fitness Week in Review: 8/3 – 8/9

Last week I wrote about how I need to kick my butt into gear for Chicago Marathon training. My activity for the entire week was just 7.2 running miles and 2 hours of softball. Hardly a quality week of training for someone preparing for their first marathon that is 2 months away.

Luckily I can say this week was much better. Truthfully 6 out of the 7 days this past week went as/ better than expected. However the 7th did not. Normally I wouldn’t kill myself for missing 1 day but that happened to be my long run day. 14 miles to be exact. More miles than I had ever run at one time in my life. More on that after the weekly breakdown:

Fitness Week in Review: 7/27 – 8/2

This is week ????? in my Chicago Marathon training. Honestly I feel like I have been training so long that I’ve lost count of the week number. I think its somewhere around week 14. This week was definitely an eye opener for me in the sense that I need to really start getting my ass in gear. I was not nearly as active as I should have been and need to change that.

My activity for the week:

Fitness Week in Review: 7/20 – 7/26

This week I continued to struggle with injuries. Some running related, some softball related. As I have posted, for the past few weeks every Sunday evening is Softball Sunday. For the most part I have been taking it easy because the Marathon is my main goal and I do not want a recreational softball league to ruin that. However this past Sunday I decided to play with a little more intensity. As a result I messed up my leg a bit, which ended up pushing back my fitness activity for the week. Let’s just say I wont let that happen again. I am all for giving it my best effort, but someone like me doesn’t train for a full marathon often so I need to keep things in perspective.

This is the PG rated version of the injury I suffered. No reason to gross people out on my blog or social media so I won’t post anymore than this:
