When it comes to 2XU Compression gear I share similar feelings about it as George Costanza does about velvet:

I have to agree with him, if it were socially acceptable I would drape myself in 2XU. And I am not ashamed to admit that. Unlike George, luckily for me there is one area of my life that I can drape myself in 2XU, and that is when I am running. And believe me, I do just that:

I have tried other compression before, and it always comes back to the same thing with 2XU. It’s compression that just fits right. So when I got a chance to test the 2XU VECTR Socks as well as their Performance Run Calf Sleeves I was very happy.

The immediate thing I noticed about the Calf Sleeve was how pain free it kept me. When I run the first pain I feel is in my calves. And it can get so bad that it forces me to slow down to a walk to work out the cramps. However when I took these Calf Sleeves out for my longest run of the year I was pain free!

What I love most about 2XU is how detailed they are with their packaging. I could get into why I think 2XU does such a great job with compression. But unfortunately this is not a subject I went to school for or am well researched on. So while I would love to give my opinion, it may not mean much. So that is why I let 2XU do the talking for themselves. On every piece of 2XU gear you purchase, the back of the box will always have the science behind what goes into the product printed on it. Talk about putting your money where your mouth is!

So having said all that, check out why the 2XU Calf Sleeves made me feel pain free:

As for running socks I feel I should be completely transparent here: I have only just found out about running socks. Or in other words, I bought my first pair of running socks about 6 months ago. Full disclaimer, prior to this I just figured a sock was a sock. I know I may get chastised for this, but it’s how I operate. I think it is because of all the pain I endure during running, my feet never seem to hurt. I don’t know what it is but I have never finished a run feeling like I needed help with my feet. Trust me, there are always plenty of other areas that hurt.

So while I may have limited experience with running socks I still very much enjoyed 2XU socks. Of all the running socks I have ever run in I felt they provided the most compression. They were tight to my feet while still being comfortable. And while my feet typically are pain free while I run, the 2XU socks kept that feeling going. Their compression material is very light weight so I felt like at times I was wearing no socks at all. If you are in the market for a light weight pair of socks, these are definitely for you. They are also very sleek as well as they barely show outside of your shoe.

See, no show!

Once again, please let me allow 2XU to explain what makes their socks so scientifically awesome:

So there you have it, yet another positive experience with 2XU. If you have read any of my reviews before I will always shoot you straight. If I do not have the best experience with gear than I will say it. Because I know you will be spending your hard earned money on this stuff and I don’t want people to be deceived. And I can honestly say 2XU gear is completely worth the price. Heck, I once bought a 2XU arm sleeve and I have absolutely no clue how a compression arm sleeve helps running. Just bought it.

As I have mentioned before I have run in many different companies compression gear. Between how 2XU makes me feel and how in depth they get with the science behind their gear on their packaging, they are the only kind of compression gear you should be looking for when it is time to buy.

Having said all that I 100% recommend the 2XU VECTR sock and Performance Calf Sleeve. If you are in the market for compression that will feel good while doing it’s job, you need to get onto the 2XU website and start shopping immediately!
